Our investment in your eyecare
It’s long been our mantra that we want to provide patients with the best in clinical excellence and technical expertise matched with outstanding customer service.
That’s why we have recently invested in new equipment which means we can now offer an even better service.
Scans help us to detect the early stages of potentially damaging eye conditions, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and retinal detachments, before your sight is compromised.
We already offer two forms of digital imagery that give us information about what’s going on with your eyes.
We have now added to that an Optomap scanner.
This fantastic bit of kit gives us an ultra-widefield view capturing more than 80% of your retina in a single image. Traditional imaging typically only shows 15% of your retina at one time.
It means during an eye examination we can get a comprehensive look at what’s happening.
✓ Anterior photography – detailed, high magnification images of the front of the eye.
✓ OCT – a 3D cross sectional scan of the back of your eye and optic nerve.
✓ Optomap – scanning out 200 degrees of the retina for unrivalled clarity.
And with digital imagery we can compare over time any changes in your eyes. That’s a key tool in early diagnosis of such conditions.
We’re delighted to be able to make this further investment in technology to give our patients the best service. (Our Facebook followers and Twitter friends may have recently seen a video of Stephen getting rather excited about what Optomap can do!)
The digital imagery is part of our 45-minuted Enhanced eye appointments. It’s a service we recommend to ensure you are taking the very best care of your sight.
• We have re-visited our M-Eye Care Plan packages so they now incorporate our latest technology. The two plans are an increasingly popular way for patients to spread the cost of year-round eye care and include some other great benefits, like money off spectacles and sunglasses.
