Delighted with second national award win
We’re thrilled to have received a second national award for our work on sustainability.
Stephen and Sukie were presented with the Sustainable Practice of the Year Award by business support group Sightcare in a ceremony held as part of its annual conference.
The accolade comes two months after the business won the same category at the 2022 Optician Awards at Park Lane Hilton in London.
The double awards success recognises the efforts made in recent years to reduce our environmental footprint. We have launched initiatives such as choosing eco conscious suppliers, extensive recycling and developing our own environmental policy.
Sightcare is the UK’s largest association representing independent opticians and optometrists.
A spokesperson said: “We invited independent practices from across the UK to enter our awards and were delighted with the exceptional level of our entrants. Our shortlisted practices were carefully selected based on their outstanding achievements for their community and their dedication to their craft.
“We are exceptionally proud of how independent optical practices have shown not only great dedication to their small independent business, but to their local community. We are delighted that Woodhouse Opticians won the Sustainable Practice Award after being impressed by their high quality application.”
Sukie Woodhouse said: “To win one award was a great thrill, but to be rewarded in this way twice in just a couple of months is amazing.
“We’ve made lots of changes to the business to make it more sustainable. And, as a team, we’re now very much more environmentally-aware and always looking at ways we can do more.”
